An average pub, probably the best in the immediate area. But nothing special. Getting served at the bar took ages as there was no-one behind it. They were all out serving tables. More of an eatery then a pub. Xx

Lovely pub, restaurant with different ambients depending on your mood. Spacious and not overcrowded . Lunch was excellent. Good vegetarian choices, and very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

We have visited The Physician several times and have always had good food and excellent service. We had our daughter’s 50th birthday there in one of the private dining rooms and we had an excellent waitress who was very attentive without being intrusive.
Consequently we decided to do the same for my husbands 80th. Again we had booked private dining but unfortunately had to cancel at the last minute due to his ill health after a spell in hospital. The cancellation was handled very thoughtfully and even my deposit was refunded. Thankyou so much for the kind and considerate way you handled this and eased what had been a very stressful time, we plan to book again when he improves.

Great place for a family Sunday lunch.
Make sure you pay your parking!I booked online,all worked well.
Delicious fish n chips,beer batter.
Roasts,were very good, delicious gravey,big Yorkshire's to finish of generous portions of meat.
Finished with delightful ice-cream and sorbet.
Lovely setting in the ex Dr's club.
So around a great experience!

Went here on 29/01/2025 with a group of friends. Terrible service. Not bad at the bar if you wanted to order a drink but really had trouble trying to pay after the meal. Asked twice and on the third request over an hour later after I’d eaten my meal, the rude waitress started questioning me asking what effort I’d made!? No apology and she actually tried to blame me! I should have only needed to ask once! I had to threaten to leave if they didn’t let me pay. This was the same for other people in my group. Lots of staff but really inefficient and disorganised.
The food is overpriced as my meal which was the mixed Sunday Roast at £26.50, had really fatty pork, it literally was more fat than pork and the beef was one small thin vey chewy slice. However the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding etc… were nice. Beautiful pub and a warm cosy atmosphere and great real ales, but unfortunately I will not be attending again after the under par food and service.

A truly wonderful gem in Birmingham! A must visit pub. Came here for a meal and a few beers with my father and brother, and every aspect of the day was truly brilliant, great selection of beers, and a lovely pint of Guinness! The food was amazing with the steak being cooked to perfection and a lovely cut of fillet. The staff were so accommodating and very helpful with a big thank you to both Lisa and Alice for making us welcome. Highly recommend to all!

Can’t fault this restaurant. Booked for Sunday lunch, one beef roast, one lamb shank and a steak burger. All meals were hot, tasty, well presented and well balanced. We then had sticky toffee puddings which again were light and tasty. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Wine was good also, albeit the trend of cold merlot isn’t my thing! Would I go again? Absolutely!

First time dining at the Physician and it didn't disappoint, we hired the garden room for my mother in laws 70th birthday meal and it was perfect great food great atmosphere and excellent service
